Therapeutic Joint Injections

Targeted relief from joint pain and inflammation to improve comfort and delay the need for surgery.

What Are Joint Injections?

Joint injections are a minimally invasive treatment where medication is delivered directly into a painful joint space. These injections are designed to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and improve mobility. They are a common and effective option for managing symptoms of arthritis, tendonitis, and other joint conditions, often providing significant relief and helping patients postpone or even avoid surgery. Dr. Kale performs these procedures with precision to ensure maximum benefit.

Types of Injections We Offer

  • Corticosteroid Injections: A powerful anti-inflammatory medication that provides rapid relief from pain and swelling, often used for conditions like osteoarthritis or rotator cuff tendonitis.
  • Hyaluronic Acid (Viscosupplementation): Often called "gel shots," these injections lubricate the knee joint, reducing pain and improving function for patients with osteoarthritis.
  • Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy: A regenerative treatment that uses your own concentrated platelets to stimulate healing in injured tendons, ligaments, and joints.

The Injection Process

The procedure is quick and performed right in our clinic. The area is cleaned, and a local anesthetic may be used to numb the skin. Dr. Kale will then carefully guide the needle into the joint space to deliver the medication. You may feel some pressure, but the process is generally well-tolerated. Most patients can go home shortly after and are advised to rest the joint for a day or two. Relief can be felt within a few days and may last for several months.
